I upgraded my account, so here I am.
Thanks Jonah for the cross-post and thanks to those of you that have extended offers to help show me the underbelly of the Eve universe. I look forward to exploding dangerously in the name of education.

It was a quick night, but not a night without a little fun.

I think I am going to like it here. Can't wait to learn wtf I am doing with a little guidance. |

It wasn't from lack of trying. I almost had a lock when he warped off.
What is funny is that he did come back in a Legion to try to kill me but I was long gone bouncing between safe spots.

Morgan Agrivar wrote:LOL. You nailed Johan Force. This guy would sit in rookie systems and let them shoot at him. Then he would reship and blow them up. Too bad you didn't get the pod.
+1 to you, sir.
He got me back. -1 to me, ma'am.
I saw him undock in a Moa and head to an anomaly site so I went after him, took from a wreck to give him cause, and then tried to orbit tight and see what would happen.
Two things happened.
* I was doing ok but noticed his shield rep was holding up too well against my pathetic 75dps. *My cap ran dry while running my web/scram and afterburner. I have neglected those skills trying to increase dps but I will be going back to those.
Ok, well three things happened.
*He blew me to smithereens once my capacitor died and armor repairer quit working.
Any comments or suggestions? A rifter vs a dual-rep Moa (he said), is there a chance in the hands of a newb?
P.S. - no laughing at the festival launcher/snowball in the high slot. I read a funny story on minerbumping, alright? Didnt really work out for me. |

My feelings of inadequacy were assuaged by a couple kills later today. I grabbed a pod that was in criminal status, and dueled a condor that was watching me on the pod and took it too.
At the suggestion of a CODE rep I also tried a bit of ice theft today for quick and easy cash. If I had set myself up better I think I could have taken a Hulk in the ice anomaly. As it was, I was stealing in a Venture and had 10 minutes of suspect left when he aggressed me for peeking in a container, giving me the engagement timer. I didn't have a ship there and staged to go back and get him with it. IF I had a decent ship, and IF I would have timed it better for the engagement timer to overlap my suspect timer by a bit, I could have flown back in and fought him without worrying about the 35 other drones in the belt, right?
Lessons learned. |

Wouldnt it help MY cap issues though? Even if it didnt drain their cap to the point of affecting them, could it keep my web/scram/afterburner/dc/armor repper going a few seconds more? |

^Thanks for the perspective^
I enjoy my Rifter so far and have been using it primarily as I work through the pvp jitters, skill up my guns and support skills, and learn the controls a bit.
I took a few days off but I've gathered a handful of kills so far and am eager for more. None of them are terribly exciting.
A gank on a venture with a meta catalyst fit (I am still working toward thermodynamics and my gunnery skills weren't enough to let me get anything bigger) was a fun side-step with a CODE agent (thank you sir).
Suspect baited a frigate in a belt. That was very fulfilling if not terribly exciting. It was over quick, and they didn't even respond to my taunts.
A few duels. Maybe 3-4. I think there is only one that accepted that had a logically fit ship, but I applauded them all for either challenging or accepting mine.
I should be ok with an incursus and will try to fit one out tonight to see how I like it. I think I'd like a few more kills under my belt before I try rolling with experienced vets. I still get a little anxious and click happy and I want to cool that down a bit before I try anything harder that crap-fit fellow rookies. I was so excited that the gank went well that I didn't get his pod fast enough, those kinds of mistakes I'd rather not do in front of too many.
Thanks again to those of you that have taken time to send messages with fits, tips, and advice. It has been greatly appreciated and very empowering.
